The Director General of Protección Civil y emergencias visits the Cofrentes nuclear power plant
Leonardo Marcos, Director General of Civil Protection and Emergencies, visited the facilities of the Cofrentes nuclear power plant together with the Deputy Director of his office, Francisco Ruiz, and the Deputy Assistant Director of Prevention, Planning and Emergencies, Benjamín Salvago, who were accompanied by the head of the Valencia Civil Protection Unit, Patricia García, and technical personnel from her Unit.
At the plant, they were received by the Cofrentes director, Tomás Lozano, and by the plant manager, Javier Sala, together with the heads of other organisational units of the plant, who gave specific presentations on the activities related to Emergency Management at the facility.
The heads of civil protection and emergencies in Spain subsequently visited the most unique buildings at the plant and were able to see in situ all the organisation, human resources and material resources available to deal with any type of emergency that might occur at the site.
